On 12 April 2021 the team took sanitary towels to an initial 100 girls in Mukuru. The visit became a monthly meeting. In July, cloth was added to the towels.
On 11 September 2021 the girls sat for “Facing challenges in my environment,” the first lesson in a series named Womanhood. The lesson counted a cost many boys never hear, and answered it with attitude: a slum address does not finish a life.
The work stays with the girls. It is towels in the hand and a harder hope than pity.
